Two new affordable rent projects set in motion in 2026 by Cyprus Land Development Corporation

The Cyprus Land Development Corporation is looking forward to the commencement of two new housing projects in 2026, which will be implemented as part of the affordable rent scheme, the Chair of the organisation, Elena Koushou Hadjidemetriou, has said.

Speaking during an 11 February press conference in Nicosia, Koushou Hadjidemetriou underlined the importance of the government’s support for the implementation of housing projects and noted that the organisation "is the executive branch" with regards to the state's relevant policy. She expressed satisfaction that 247 housing units will be delivered by the end of 2026 and added that “we want to make clear that the organisation functions as a bridge between the state, the local government and the private sector.”

Regarding the housing scheme for affordable rent, Koushou Hadjidemetriou reported that two major projects are underway, one in Agios Nikolaos in Limassol (138 apartments) and another in Strovolos in Nicosia (54 apartments), thanks to significant government funding of €28 million (€16 million for Limassol and €12 million for Strovolos). According to information, one of the two new projects will also be located within the area of the Limassol Municipality.

In 2025, the organisation completed a project with 24 apartments in Larnaca. Several other projects began in Kokkinotrimithia (10 residences), in the Municipality of Polemidia (29 residences) and in the Municipalities of Lakatamia, Agios Dometios, Kaimakli and Pallouriotissa.

Koushou Hadjidemetriou also mentioned that the organisation is actively participating in the construction of 500 housing units on state land, which were announced by the President of the Republic, and which will also be managed by the organisation.
